“Makellos“ means flawless or perfect What is perfection and flawlessness nowadays? It is an Ideal that keeps changing and requires constant reflection and self-improvement. Nothing ever stands still – everything needs to be efficient – one has to perform like a machine, without mistakes or brakes. Reflecting coatings in combination with dyeings, change with the exposure to light and the movements of the wearer. The outfits (de-)form the body in a subtle way. Stiff paddings, e.g. on the shinebones, are moving contrary to the flowing fabrics. With the zippers worn openly and the drapes underneath, the back represents a dissolving moment. Every side shows a different aspect. A big emphasis lies on the garment’s surfaces. Experiments and fabric manipulations form a big part of the research and final collection pieces. Almost all the collection pieces are bonded and taped. The pieces remain two-dimensional until the shoulder seams are closed to make heat pressing possible. Trimmings and fabrics refer to an ideal of an active lifestyle where performance and outdoor clothing play a major role.
